iPhone 3.0 Love

All I can say is finally.  Finally Apple is listening to the scores of people complaining about basic functionality such as copy/paste.  Today Apple released iPhone 3.0 firmware to developers.  One of the most notable additions was copy/paste.  This has been a huge issue for some iPhone users from the beginning.  Another noteworthy is the addition of MMS, or Multimedia Messaging Service.  iPhone users only have the capability currently for SMS.  I am not sure why this capability was not designed into the 1st Gen phones since it is a basic service on even the cheapest phones in the market.  Disappointing though as it will only be available on 3G phones, not 1st Gen phones.

Macworld is reporting a vast array of features such as:

  • Landscape orientation for all key applications, such as Mail, Notes & SMS
  • Voice memos
  • Spotlight search capability (very exciting)
  • Stereo Bluetooth Support (A2DP)
  • Note Sync – personally my favorite.

iPod Touch users should expect to cough up about $10 for the updated software, which is the same price as the 2.0 software last year.
